Use the drop down menu to select Abstract, Figurative, Landscape or the Hubble Telescope Series.
It is important to note that even when Kay wasn't exhibiting she never stopped painting. This website will show most of her works eventually. There are more then 200 paintings, drawings and sculptures still in the possession of the sons. During the last part of her life she started to weld again. A number of pieces were sold through the years but little record of those exists. If you have one of her pieces please drop the family a note through the contact page with your name and title/description of the work. It would be good to establish a record of where these are.
Kay didn't sign all her paintings nor did she date them. She painted and didn't always attend to record keeping.
A word about the categories.
There are some paintings that have been put in the abstract category that could certainly be said to have qualities of a landscape. Most likely the reverse can be said as well. We have done the best to find the most appropriate "label" for these paintings but we do know that Kay was always aware of the abstract nature of any painting and so the lines are not distinct. This challenge came most often with the Altitude series, or where some of the titles include words like "Summer" although the image could be said to be purely abstract.
